I hope to have a special blog on the Gatorhead post with a little more about the Colonel. I have finally done something I have never done before.... I have used up all my comics. I really have to get busy this weekend or there will be nothing to post for Monday.... I really don't like running this close.

Somehow I goofed and today's MIG comic is a silent strip. I uploaded it without the dialogue so you can spend a few minutes watching Buster and Hank stare at each other while Crump watches from the bushes and Shirley hangs onto the side of the truck. In the meantime I posted this Creatures of Habit comic so that your trip here would not be a total waste. Remember "Of all the things I ever lost, I miss my mind the most." Thank you for your patience... if you are dissatisfied with the service on this web comic you will be refunded your full purchase price with your cash register receipt, UPC code, 9 types of valid id and a letter from your mother.
Tomorrow this comic will be up with words and everything.

Who Is Watching Who?

Hopefully sometimes this week I will be able to post a picture or some pictures of the Colonel.... Actual photographs that is mentioned in these comics. I hope you enjoy.

Sometimes we are just not as invisible as we think we are. Will the MIG get Shirley? Will there be an uprising in Gatorhead? I certainly wish I knew but I am making this stuff up as I go along.

I told y'all that I was gettin' slow and gettin' behind. The Buzzards now have me in their sights and that is not a good sign.

These two better not be Monkeying around. There real business at the moment is monkey business and they had better shine. That's right George... Monkey Shines.

Tomorrow will be a special presentation of a Creatures of Habit comic because that is all I have in stock to upload. At this time when I would usually put something up for Saturday and Sunday I have nothing. Hopefully by the time you read this I will have some comics. (If I can ever get out of the library and go home to start drawing). I really don't know what kind of turns the story will take next week because I haven't written or drawn the comics yet but somewhere in my mind I see Crusher, Buster, Hank, Shirley, and possibly Senator Rebate.... along with maybe the Colonel forming an alliance to keep the MIG from takin' Shirley. I might have to make an appearance somewhere myself and bring along Kurt and Burt to boot.

All options are open since I have no Idea where to go from here. I am pretty sure that Winston the Wise and Warren The Weather Wolf will not take part in this continuing but bogged down saga.

I am sure this is a case of TMI but hey... It didn't cost y'all nothin'.

I'm not sure what Boss Hoss will say about all this but I am sure that he doesn't want to be disturbed while he is stuffing his face with Slim Jims and bearclaws. You can find out what he says by coming back tomorrow for the super-sized 9 panel comic.

It would be really hard to do anything without showing some identification. If you can't show identification then you have no authority... unless you become president but that is another story for another comic strip. How are they going to get Shirley without using some kind of authority or doing battle with the citizens of Gatorhead? I hope at least I can figure it out because I need to bring this story to a close sometimes before Thanksgiving hopefully.
I told you all that I am open for suggestions. Oh by the way, I think I know who Buster called.

Maybe Crump is a little more observant than we gave him credit for. It looks like the man without a plan had better either plan or talk to the man to find out what the plan is. Is that clear to everyone?

Here is an Edna and Mildred comic. They are usually on the Gatorhead site but I am still getting organized and so today and tomorrow I will have them here. I hope you enjoy. The Men In Gray will be back on Monday.

Buried Treasure

I was supposed to have a Hank's Hotline here today but at the time of posting this I didn't have one ready. Hopefully Hank's Hotline will be back next week. I hope you enjoy this Creatures of Habit comic instead. They will also be coming back soon somewhere... as soon as I get organized. I am so confused.

In The Same Room

Would the Men In Gray be able to find Shirley even if they were in the same room with him? What would have happened if little Jack Horner did live in a round house. Would he require therapy like the rest of us? These questions may or may not be answered as we have another week of The Men In Gray (MIG) next week. Come back tomorrow for Hanks Hotline.

Who's That Knockin' at the Door?

Remember, a wise monkey doesn't monkey with another monkey's monkey. Them are words to live by. Looks like tomorrow we will be seeing the first meeting of Hank, Buster and the Men In Gray. Be sure to come back for a new comic with more panels.

Ain't That Weird?

The Men In Gray might be gettin' in deeper than they ever imagined. And then again I might be writin' myself into a corner. I have to do some brain cramp thinkin' to make this all come to an end somewhere. I am open for suggestions on this storyline. I like to get you all involved.
The Gatorhead site is still on Hiatus until I can get some time to organize... like I have ever been organized before but now it is becoming a problem.

Look Who Is Back

For a little further explanation of this comic check out yesterday's blog. This is a little something I threw in while I was working on the rest of the storyline and it might have some significance down the road.... That's why you have to keep coming back.
PS I seem to have lost my comic files for the rest of week. If there is no comic tomorrow you will know I didn't find them. Sometimes it gets confusing posting a whole week ahead and trying to write something today that you will be reading in several days (I am writing this on Wednesday Sept. 8 and you should be reading it on Monday September 13th.) I have to go now. My mind is gettin' boggled and I am having brain cramps.

Some Interesting Notes- At least they interested me.

Sometimes in the near future you will be seeing this character making a cameo appearance from time to time. This is Col. Beauregard J. Southbound Confederate Air Force Retired.

This is a character I did on the radio back in the 80's. I was asked to make some personal appearances so I had to become the Col. I did and I had a great time with the character and with WHBQ radio in Memphis, Tenn. I also had weekly conversations with Bob Dearborn who was then host of the nationally syndicated "Night Time America". I have always wanted to do a comic strip about the Colonel (even before I started doing comic strips). I am just inserting him in the Gatorhead strip from time to time and I am not really sure where this will go in the future.

I just wanted to introduce you to the Colonel because he is kind of special to me, what with all the memories and all so say hi to Col. Beauregard J. Southbound, Confederate Air Force Retired.

(I used an actual picture of me dressed as the Colonel as a model for this drawing. Of course the picture was taken nearly 30 years ago.)

Long Hours Can Help

Kurt and Burt are going to be back soon with the Men In Gray story. Check the comic every day or you might miss something.

What's In A Name?

I wonder if dad and his son are going to wind up having to live up to their names. It might be worth coming back to find out.
And by the way... for those of you who are real artists and notice all the mistakes in the drawings of us amatuers... I finally realized that I forgot to draw Crumps feet. I personally apologize to you and especially to Crump. I will have him a foot by the next time you see him, I promise.

When Crusher showed back up in Gatorhead to see Buster there were some hints at his background. We might be about to find out a little more about Crusher Schulls. Come back
tomorrow for more...

Scary Lady

Seems like Crump may realize when he is gettin' in over his head. For someone who was so disinterested in Boss Haws' office he seems to be making some progress.

With all my internet problems of late... mainly not having my own access and the ones I have been using are on the blink my postings might seem a little off schedule. Hey it's a holiday week and things are messed up all over so gimme a break and just read everything and if you are confused go back and read it over. If that doesn't work contact all your friends and have them all read everything twice and then you can all discuss it in the comments section. There will be a test at the end of the semester.

I have posted a retro comic for today and probably will through Monday which is a holiday. I have been having some computer problems and was not aware that I did not have any new comics for weekend postings. I hope to have this corrected by next weekend.

Some questions are a little harder than others. Do you have a question for Hank. Email us at or or leave us a comment and Hank will try to give you an answer. Haven't you always wanted to be in a comic strip?

Don't forget about Mildred and Edna

Mildred did say that she and Buster were the only People who lived there. I guess that is the truth. I'm wondering how good their information gathering skills really are?
