Uh oh!! Sorry

I was a little indisposed this weekend and didn't keep a close enough check on things. If you leave a blog or cartoon alone very long they either won't do anything or they will take off in a direction of their own choosin'.
I caught mine in time I hope. I had to post a comic on the Gatorhead site http://www.gatorhead.wordpress.com because there was nothin' up since Friday. This is the first post here since Wednesday. I think I am gettin' my stuff hearded together and in the coral so I can keep up with 'em. Thanks for your patience.

CAN YOU TAKE IT?

Lately I have found that there are a whole lot of folks that like to dish it out but can't take it. I think this is especially true in politics. When one side uses something it is constructive criticism but when the other side uses it they call it "hate". I reckon that confuses me because I don't understand how anyone can hate anybody. Sometimes I don't understand how some criticism is constructive either.

RATTLEHEADED COTTON MOUTH WALLY-MOXIN

This is a story I posted when I first started on the interwebs. I thought y'all might get a laugh out of it so I jest up and rerun it.
There are some things that make living in a community special. I guess every town or community has something that they are proud of that other places don't have. In Gatorhead we have a nice spring where we get our drinking water and water to make sweet tea with. It belongs to the city and they won't sell it to anyone because then they would start putting it in bottles and jugs and selling it. We get our drinking water and the water we make tea with free. It is a whole lot better than the water we get from the city and from private wells. A couple of years ago when Boomer was about six his mama, Maybelle, told him to go to the spring and get a jug of water so she could make some tea for supper. Boomer has always been a good boy and he's smart as he can be, completely different from his older brother Arlis. Boomer took the jug and went to the spring to get the water. Last year on one of those days we have where the men get together and clean up and fix up around town we cleared out around the spring and built up around it with some stones to keep it from getting overgrown and to make it harder for things to get into the spring. We've done all that since Boomer had his excitement. At that time it was pretty grown up around the spring with nothing but a footpath leading to it. Boomer walked up to the spring and just as he was about to get the water he saw a big old snake. He threw that milk jug at it as hard as he could and ran home as fast as his six year old legs would carry him. He ran into the house all out of breath and Maybelle asked, "What in the world is the matter with you and where is my tea water?" Gasping for breath he managed to explain with much excitement, "There was a rattleheaded cotton mouth wally moxin in that spring and I throwed the water jug at him and run home before he could bite me." Maybelle laughed and said, "That was probably just an old water snake and he was as scared of you as you were him. You should have got the water to make tea with." Boomer had finally caught his breath and answered, "If that snake was as scared of me as I was him then that water ain't fit to make tea with."

I'M BEING FEATURED IN A COMIC TODAY!

Today!!!!!
Most folks who create comics have their characters featured in comics. It seems that I have been selected to appear in Monday's Comic at Adannac City Monday January 17th. The extremely funny and talented George Ford is featuring me in his comic
http://addanaccity.com/wordpress/ . I reckon am proud to be featured in someone elses comic strip. If you are goin' to try to inspire people you have to do it any way you can.

On Wednesday or sometime soon Michael J. Phelps creator of the Route 66 comic strip
at http://www.lifeon66.com said I should be appearing in his comic. If you like the 50's and 60's you should really love his stuff. Even if you don't remember the 50's and 60's it is still great stuff. Check it out.

Last weeka new character appeared in the Bug Pudding comic strip named Bo Gator and He's been thinkin' . Hmmm... sounds vaguely familiar. Maybe you should check it out at
http://www.bugpudding.com/ J.P. Kalensky has a hilarious bunch of swamp characters who have all sorts of misadventures. Check it out. He said I had been the inspiration for a new character and I think Bo Gator might be him.

Y'all check out these folks comics

IT IS A GOOD DAY

A friend of mine said that every day you can sit up and take nourishment is a good day. I think I agree with that.

Just Thinkin'

Hi y'all, I'm Bo Lumpkin and I've been thinkin'.

We have a whole new year comin' up and I reckon the big question is what do we plan to do with it. I'm more or less a spontaneous type feller that kinda just gets up and lets the day take me where it wants to. Bein' retired sorta gives me that luxury. I do have goals though. I actually accomplished some things last year in spite of my serendipitous ways. I got my studio set up (though not quite finished) and I am makin' progress on remodelin' the Rooster Roost, my man cave. I did cut my postin' schedule back to somethin' a little more manageable. I ain't tryin' to post 20 different things a week, and I'm havin' more fun doin' it.

I have some plans for next year too. I am still goin' to work on improvin' my artwork and I am goin' to try to do a whole lot more writin'. I plan to make some videos and I still hope to do some simple animation. I want to continue to support the other webcomics and their creators and do my best to promote them because everyone has been so good and encouragin' to me.

I really appreciate all of you who have supported me and encouraged me over the past couple of years that I have been doin' this. I am goin' to be tryin' to show my appreciation a little more during the coming year. You folks have been awesome and there was a time this year (when I was havin' brain trouble) that I was about ready to quit but many of you really encouraged me and gave me a boost. I especially appreciate all of those who did guest strips for me and I plan on acknowledging that even more in future blogs.

I reckon what I've been thinkin' is that I'm gonna try to get up each day and be the best Bo Lumpkin I can be and help all the folks I can to be the best that they can be and everything else ought to take care of itself.

Whatchall been thinkin'? Leave me a comment or write me an email to bo@bolumpkin.com and bolumpkin@gmail.com. I sure do like hearin' from y'all.

New Year Tornado

These are some of the pictures that I took of the tornado damage near Kosciusko. Remember to pray for these people. Since this was on the weekend I haven't seen anything about it on the News today.

We went to bed early last night even though there were storm warnings on TV. We didn't realize that this tornado had even come close (within about 8 miles) to us until about noon today. Here are some pictures of the destruction.
