WE HAVE USED IT UP

Hi, I'm Bo Lumpkin and I've been thinkin'.

This year has been filled with ups and downs I reckon but the upside is we are still here to look back on it. Personally I think it has been a great year. It was a little over a year ago that I began to interact with other people on the internet, especially in the web comic community and It has been fantastic to get to know so many great people.

Next year looks promising. I have some things on hold, some things in the works, and some things I just might forget all together. I am going to try this year just to have a lot of fun with the comics, blogs, and movies. I am too old to try to get rich and famous anyway and I'm not sure if I could handle it well.

I am going to work on improving my artwork, making videos, and developing new characters and situations. I reckon what I've been thinkin' is that my life is so good I feel sorry for anybody that ain't me.

I hope y'all have a Happy and Prosperous New Year!

Whatcall been thinkin'? Leave me a comment.

FANTASTIC WEEKEND

Hi y'all, I'm Bo Lumpkin and I've been thinkin'.

This has been a fantastic Christmas and Holiday season so far. My wife and I did some visitin' over the holidays and we got to see some kin that we have been needin' to visit for a long time.
We woke up in Oxford, MS to a snow covered ground and we rode around and enjoyed the scenery.
Needless to say that this short trip kind of got me behind on my comics, my videos, and my bloggin' but it was worth it.
I hope y'all all had a great holiday weekend and will finish out 2010 with a Great week. Life is so good I feel sorry for anybody that ain't me.
I'm Bo Lumpkin and I've been thinkin'. Whatchall been thinkin'. Leave me a comment or send me an email to bo@bolumpkin.com or bolumpkin@gmail.com.

THE BO DRYER VIDEO

This is one of my earlier videos that I made. I thought I would share it with you since I have a lot of new followers that might not have seen it yet. Watch it and share it with your friends. Since I have finished my studio I will probably be making some new videos in the future. I hope you enjoy it.

Back To Thinkin'

Hi, I'm Bo Lumpkin and I've been thinkin'.
I have been explorin' and workin' with some new things and different things for the comics and for the blog. You will still be seeing some of the old standby's with the same look but I am going to try to add some new looks to Winston, Kurt and Burt and maybe even Edna and Mildred.
I will be be posting these on the Gatorhead site on Monday's Wednesdays and Fridays... not in any particular order for each comic. I am going to use this page mostly for blogging and sharin' my thoughts on things. Also I plan to post some of my earliest videos here for those who are new and might not have ever seen the videos and I plan to make some new videos soon.
I have a lot of plans and a lotta stuff in the works but sometimes that thing called life happens while you are makin' other plans. Y'all can see what Winston has to say about Kippling if you click on the Gatorhead sign below.

Guest Creatures of Habit

The National Free Press’ Editorial Cartoonist. Spilling ink on drawing boards since 1979. Delivering the funnies to the masses through the printed pages since 1988. This is the awesome MJ. MJ has some awesome stuff and you can find it at

http://blog.nationalfreepress.org/NFPCartoonist/

MJ’s cartoons and illustrations can be seen throughout various media sources internationally.

The National Free Press (Canada)
The Nashville Free Press (U.SA.)
Newsblaze Publications (U.S.A.)
Newropeans Magazine (Paris, France)

The cartoons produced through PC Studios have been featured in “Best Editorial Compilations”, Comic books (U.K., Britian), and Anthologies as well as newspapers, magazines, and exhibitions through Museums and Galleries.

MJ is extra talented and has been a great source of inspiration to me. He has been a fan of Creatures of Habit and actually his guest comic blows me away. Those that have graciously donated guest comics have done such a good job that I am going to feel a little self concious when I start back to posting my own stuff.... Oh wait.. I have always felt self concious so for now just be sure and check out MJ's stuff.

TAKING A BREAK

Bearman of beartoons.com at http://beartoons.com/ has generously contributed this guest strip. I am hoping this will not have to be used too much but since I am in a slump it could come in real handy.

Bearman is a political cartoonist who calls himself a "hack cartoonist". If he is I hope to someday work my way up to being a "hack cartoonist". He is one of the nicest and most helpful people I know of in the webcomic world. He is always ready to help others and encourage them. He is always promoting charitable work of some kind. He is talented and funny but more than that he is an all around good guy. If you haven't visited his site go to http://beartoons.com/
Thanks Bearman...

NEW GUEST STRIP TOMORROW

The amazing and awesome Bearman has graciously sent me a guest comic. Not only is it hilarious it is re-useable. I guess you could say it is a gift that keeps on giving. I will be posting the comic tomorrow so you really need to come back to see it.

"The Rooster Roost"

Renovation and furnishing of the new Gatorhead Studio and my man cave, the Rooster Roost are coming along great. If I could just get over this mental block I have I could begin using them.
These is a drafting table I picked up at a rummage sale for $8. The wooden filing cabinet was $2.
This is a desk I picked up at a yard sale for $3. I wanted to keep my roll top desk at the other house. I still have a little work to do on it.

This is the Kitchen in my man cave. I will update with more pictures later.

This will be great for napping and watching TV in my man cave. I haven't got around to decorating the wall behind the couch yet.

This is the corner I have been decorating in my man cave, The Rooster Roost, Here are some more of them

I certainly can't blame my productivity on the fact that I don't have a good place to work. Maybe when I get it completely finished the creative juices will begin flowing again.
I have more pictures and I might post some of them later.

Update

I am still posting comics on the other site at http://www.gatorhead.wordpress.com I have a couple more and then I have to start doin' a heap of drawin'. I have been hard at work... entertainin' company this weekend and workin' on my man cave, The Rooste Roost, most of yesterday. I am about to get the studio in the Rooster Roost to a point where I can actually start doin' some drawin' and writin' and creatin' like I am plannin' on doin'.
I hope y'all will be patient with me. I really enjoyed George Ford's www.addanaccity.com guest strip. If you haven't already be sure and give him a visit. That guy is awesome. I am still open to guest strips but I know how busy everyone is right now.
That is just a little update to what is happenin' at Gatorhead Manor right now. No drama, not a whole lot of progress and a whole lot of takin' it easy.

GUEST STRIP BY GEORGE FORD

Thanks so much to George Ford, creator of the awesome comic strip Addanac City and my favorite brat Hank. George is probably one of the funniest and most talented people I have ever had the pleasure of getting to know (on the internet or otherwise). Not only that he is also one of the nicest and most supportive of other people doing webcomics.

Check out his comics...updated daily (he is also one of the hardest working) at http://www.addanaccity.com/ Leave him a comment and tell him Bo sent you.

Excitement Fills the Air at Gatorhead

I am really excited about some things that are happening at Gatorhead. As most of you know I moved most of the comics to the Gatorhead site at http://www.gatorhead.wordpress.com/ . As most of you also know I have been whinin' and complainin' about runnin' out of back up comics on account of bein' so busy with other things. I have been busy remodeling the "Rooster Roost", my Man Cave. I am also converting one room of the man cave to a studio for drawing, painting (a new hobby of mine... see previous post) and other creative activities. In the process of doing all this I have not been drawing comics. I had enough to get me to today... and now I am completely out. I was going to catch up this weekend but I have weekend company coming and he ain't gonna want to watch me draw comics so I will still be behind.

What in the world am I excited about. Well I'm usually just excited that I woke up this morning but today something great happened. I had asked for anyone who would be willing to do a guest comic to send it to me.. His Awesomeness himself, George Ford of Addanac City Fame has generously sent me an Awesome Gatorhead comic. It is so awesome I will probably post it on both this site and the Gatorhead site on Friday. That way I can leave it up and promote it all weekend so you do not forget to come by and check it out.

TRYING NEW THINGS

This was my first painting. I figure I am still young at 60 yrs and it is not too late to learn how to do something new so I decided to try my hand at painting.

This was my second attempt and I made the tractor too close up. I should have had more surrounding it and put it on a smaller scale. I am learning from my mistakes.

Gatorhead

It has been a busy week around Gatorhead. One thing I have been busy about is enjoying some time just doin' what I want. I am still working on the "Rooster Roost" (My Man Cave) and turning part of it into a studio. I just ain't tryin' to kill myself doin' it. I haven't been drawin' a lot this week because of bein' busy doin' other stuff. I have comics posted on the Gatorhead site at http://www.gatorhead.wordpress.com through next Tuesday. I hope to get some drawin' and cartoonin' done this weekend but who knows.

I enjoy visitin' and interactin' with other folks on the internet... maybe sometimes to the point that I become a pest. That's alright too, I'm gettin old and you need to make allowances for us old codgers. I like it when you leave comments. I like it when you tweet and put my stuff on facebook. I especially like for other cartoonists to leave comments and I like to leave comments on their sites.

I have cut back to pace that I enjoy. I have also developed a new attitude. I am me. I hope you like me and like my stuff. It don't make much difference.. I still like you and I like a lot of y'all's stuff. If I can help promote your comic or blog I am going to do so.

I don't know if it is proper or not and I might not have enough traffic to make it worth your while but I would sure like some guest strips from folks to help me get over my slump. The only requirement is that this is a PG site and it is closer to a G-rated site. I ain't smart enough to know how big to tell you to make it but it has to be uploadable on wordpress blog page.

I'm at the library now uploading what stuff I have ready + a week of devotionals for my church. I am going home and I think I might work on comics...after my nap.

REST IN PEACE MY FRIEND AND COMPANION

I had hoped to get finished with the Men In Gray series this week and things were actually going ahead of schedule for me. I was going to spend all day yesterday working on it. Unfortunately Life is what happens while you are making other plans.

For the past few weeks I have watched my faithful companion and friend Sesay, my weiner dog, as his health deteroriated before my eyes. Yesterday was his last day. He was almost 13 years old and was very much a part of our lives. I spent most of the day yesterday with his burial and doing a lot of grieving. I know life goes on and we have to move forward but I certainly don't have to get in a hurry about it.

I will finish the MIG series when I can. I still have comics up on the Gatorhead Site almost every day now so you can go there for a new comic. Thanks to all of you for understanding.

The Colonel

This is a picture of me...as the Colonel back in 1982 before making a personal appearance. I can't remember what for. Just thought these might be interesting to look at while I catch up on the Men In Gray comic.

MIG COMIC WILL BE BACK SOON

The Men In Gray comic will be back soon. I am working on the last part of this story and circumstances that I didn't control have got me severely behind.
I will be posting some old pictures of the Colonel on this site for part of the week. You might find them interesting and see a whole new side to Bo Lumpkin.

I will be posting something on the Gatorhead site at http://www.gatorhead.wordpress.com/ most days this week. You can also get there by clicking on the sign below

Getting A Move On

Well things should start to get interesting next week. Hopefully I will wind up this storyline in a couple of weeks..... think I think I might just quit for awhile. I have a lot of other projects that I want to work on... including some animation... and videos. I am not going to quit producing but I want to work on my stuff at my own speed and posting all this stuff has become a problem. If I had thousands or even hundreds of fans I wouldn't even consider taking a break but alas... I have decided that very few will be disappointed if there is not something new here each day. I will try to post on Facebook and Twitter when I have a new post. I just wanted to inform everyone ahead of time. I do want to thank all my loyal fans and all the people who have taken the time to comment. You have really been an encouragement.

THE THINKER

There is a famous statue called "The Thinker". I don't think it has a thing on the statue of the Colonel. Don't forget to come back tomorrow when Lucious a.k.a. Crusher has a meeting with none other than Bo Lumpkin. Sometimes I just have to get in on the act.

STATUES ARE FOR DEADMEN

I hope to have a special blog on the Gatorhead post with a little more about the Colonel. I have finally done something I have never done before.... I have used up all my comics. I really have to get busy this weekend or there will be nothing to post for Monday.... I really don't like running this close.

MEAL PLANNING

Somehow I goofed and today's MIG comic is a silent strip. I uploaded it without the dialogue so you can spend a few minutes watching Buster and Hank stare at each other while Crump watches from the bushes and Shirley hangs onto the side of the truck. In the meantime I posted this Creatures of Habit comic so that your trip here would not be a total waste. Remember "Of all the things I ever lost, I miss my mind the most." Thank you for your patience... if you are dissatisfied with the service on this web comic you will be refunded your full purchase price with your cash register receipt, UPC code, 9 types of valid id and a letter from your mother.
Tomorrow this comic will be up with words and everything.

Who Is Watching Who?

Hopefully sometimes this week I will be able to post a picture or some pictures of the Colonel.... Actual photographs that is mentioned in these comics. I hope you enjoy.

WHO IS IN THE BUSHES?

Sometimes we are just not as invisible as we think we are. Will the MIG get Shirley? Will there be an uprising in Gatorhead? I certainly wish I knew but I am making this stuff up as I go along.

FROM BAD TO WORSE

I told y'all that I was gettin' slow and gettin' behind. The Buzzards now have me in their sights and that is not a good sign.

MONKEY WATCH

These two better not be Monkeying around. There real business at the moment is monkey business and they had better shine. That's right George... Monkey Shines.

Tomorrow will be a special presentation of a Creatures of Habit comic because that is all I have in stock to upload. At this time when I would usually put something up for Saturday and Sunday I have nothing. Hopefully by the time you read this I will have some comics. (If I can ever get out of the library and go home to start drawing). I really don't know what kind of turns the story will take next week because I haven't written or drawn the comics yet but somewhere in my mind I see Crusher, Buster, Hank, Shirley, and possibly Senator Rebate.... along with maybe the Colonel forming an alliance to keep the MIG from takin' Shirley. I might have to make an appearance somewhere myself and bring along Kurt and Burt to boot.

All options are open since I have no Idea where to go from here. I am pretty sure that Winston the Wise and Warren The Weather Wolf will not take part in this continuing but bogged down saga.

I am sure this is a case of TMI but hey... It didn't cost y'all nothin'.

Wednesday, September 22, 2010

WHAT NOW?

I'm not sure what Boss Hoss will say about all this but I am sure that he doesn't want to be disturbed while he is stuffing his face with Slim Jims and bearclaws. You can find out what he says by coming back tomorrow for the super-sized 9 panel comic.

Tuesday, September 21, 2010

MAY I HAVE THIS DANCE

It would be really hard to do anything without showing some identification. If you can't show identification then you have no authority... unless you become president but that is another story for another comic strip. How are they going to get Shirley without using some kind of authority or doing battle with the citizens of Gatorhead? I hope at least I can figure it out because I need to bring this story to a close sometimes before Thanksgiving hopefully.
I told you all that I am open for suggestions. Oh by the way, I think I know who Buster called.

Monday, September 20, 2010

STUFFED MONKEYS DON'T DANCE

Maybe Crump is a little more observant than we gave him credit for. It looks like the man without a plan had better either plan or talk to the man to find out what the plan is. Is that clear to everyone?

Saturday, September 18, 2010

SOMETHING DIFFERENT

Here is an Edna and Mildred comic. They are usually on the Gatorhead site but I am still getting organized and so today and tomorrow I will have them here. I hope you enjoy. The Men In Gray will be back on Monday.

Friday, September 17, 2010

Buried Treasure

I was supposed to have a Hank's Hotline here today but at the time of posting this I didn't have one ready. Hopefully Hank's Hotline will be back next week. I hope you enjoy this Creatures of Habit comic instead. They will also be coming back soon somewhere... as soon as I get organized. I am so confused.

Thursday, September 16, 2010

In The Same Room

Would the Men In Gray be able to find Shirley even if they were in the same room with him? What would have happened if little Jack Horner did live in a round house. Would he require therapy like the rest of us? These questions may or may not be answered as we have another week of The Men In Gray (MIG) next week. Come back tomorrow for Hanks Hotline.

Wednesday, September 15, 2010

Who's That Knockin' at the Door?

Remember, a wise monkey doesn't monkey with another monkey's monkey. Them are words to live by. Looks like tomorrow we will be seeing the first meeting of Hank, Buster and the Men In Gray. Be sure to come back for a new comic with more panels.

Tuesday, September 14, 2010

Ain't That Weird?

The Men In Gray might be gettin' in deeper than they ever imagined. And then again I might be writin' myself into a corner. I have to do some brain cramp thinkin' to make this all come to an end somewhere. I am open for suggestions on this storyline. I like to get you all involved.
The Gatorhead site is still on Hiatus until I can get some time to organize... like I have ever been organized before but now it is becoming a problem.
